1 May today which means this time in 30 days time I’ll be on the road in KZN.
I’m trying hard not to think about it, but it was first thing in my head when I woke up this morning and turned my gaze towards the alarm clock, ‘I’ll have been running for 2 and a half hours by now’. I know I’m going to be at this game all day. I’ve just had a look at the official Comrades site and according to their countdown clock there are 30 days, 20 hours, 5 minutes and 22 seconds to the gun. OMFG given that I’ve done four months of training and there is now only one to go it feels like the race is next week. I’ve just looked at my watch again and by now (in a month’s time) I’ll have been running for 4 hours and 20 minutes. If I’m on target, I’ll have just gone through the marathon mark and be winding my way uphill towards Drummond which marks the highest part of the course and the halfway point. My heart is racing just thinking about it.
